]]>Leeds Road, Scholes will be closed from 19:00 on 23rd July until 06:00 on 6th September. This is to allow extensive online construction work to take place. Due to the level difference from existing road to the new junction and narrow width of the existing road, there are no options other than the full road closure. The six weeks closure is the shortest time we feel is required to build the new junction and we will be working hard during this time to achieve the goal of constructing it. We are unable to provide local traffic access, however, we will be installing a temporary walkway around the works for pedestrians and cyclists.
The advance notice signs will be placed out in the next few weeks. We will be undertaking a social media campaign for the Leeds Road closure and each of the weekend closures when the dates are finalised. ]]>The diversion for the 7 will be via Thorner Lane and York Road omitting Skeltons Lane, Coal Road and Ring Road.
Existing First Bus 16 16A 56 and X56 services are available on part of Coal Road and also on White Laithe Road and Sherburn Road North. 16 and 16A use Seacroft Bus Station so will help facilitate journeys to Seacroft and Leeds.

]]>Coal Road from the junction with the A58 to Skeltons Lane will be closed permanently on Tuesday 6th April 2021 at 00:0. This is to allow us to link Junction 2, A58 roundabout to Junction 3, Skeltons Lane Roundabout.
At the same time we will temporarily close Skeltons Lane, across the ELOR junction to complete the construction of the new Junction 3, Skeltons Lane roundabout. This will mean that Skeltons Lane will be closed from 00:01 on Tuesday 6th April 2021 until approximately the end of August.

We will then reopen Skeltons Lane to the public with the roundabout constructed and operational at the end of August. Once Skeltons Lane is reopened we would be looking to permanently close Thorner Lane from just past the entrance to the Crematorium to the junction with A64. ]]>Over the next few weeks we will be undertaking drainage works on Leeds / Barwick Road which will involve temporary road closures.
We have looked at other options for example keeping the roads open to one lane but due to the depth of the excavations and narrow nature of these roads it is necessary to undertake the works under a full road closure. The details of the closure are:
Junction 5 (Leeds/ Barwick Rd). Road closure weekend From 0700hrs 26th September 2020 to 0600hrs 28th September 2020. (Saturday/Sunday).
Diversions will be in place (please see the diversion maps attached). Access will be maintained for pedestrians throughout.

On Thursday 17th September we will be closing the A6120 from A58 Wetherby Road Roundabout to Roundhay Park Lane.
The road closure will operate from 7pm to 6am. This is for us to undertake tree clearance works.
