In March we held two very successful Community Tree Planting Days.  Both days were very well attended.  Over the two days we were delighted to received help from children who attend local community schools. There were representatives from three local community groups and charities including The Prince’s Trust and MENCAP.  Our special guest was Ava Walkley.  Ava contacted us to say she was disappointed when we had to cut down trees when the ELOR advanced works began.  She was very pleased to volunteer to join us and take part in the tree planting, she personally planted over 20 trees in the new wet woodland.  There are numerous ecological and environmental  benefits to wet woodlands including management of rainwater run-off, creating more habitats for wildlife to thrive and helping with management of vehicle emissions.  We would like to say a massive thank you to all the volunteers and everyone who was involved in helping us to create this lasting community legacy.
